Happy All Hallow's Eve - WHAT?

Did you know the origin of the term "Halloween" stems from a celebration known as "All Hallows' Eve"? Historically is was celebrated the evening before "All Hallows' Day, or All Saint's Day, which is November 1st. This day, originally part of a three-day celebration to remember saints, martyrs and other faithful believers has been commercialized to be more about costumes and candy. The National Retail Federation estimates Halloween related spending this year at $7.4 billion with a capital "B." That's a lot of costumes, candy, caramel apples, carved pumpkins, goblins, ghouls, skeletons and more!

Harmon-Meek Gallery kicks off
52nd season in Naples

The Harmon-Meek Gallery kicks off their 52nd season in Naples November 3-21 with an exciting Opening Group Exhibition with new works by much-loved gallery artists and the addition of six new gallery artists.

Three new gallery artists were represented for decades by a major SoHo gallery in New York which closed earlier this year. John Baeder, Greg Constantine, and Thomas Pfannerstill are well established “Pop Artists.” Baeder is a realist known for his historic depictions of diners and disappearing aspects of Americana. Constantine calls his work “Poetic License” and his humor as well as his technique will intrigue the viewer. Pfannerstill is referred to as the “Champion of the Humble Object.” His work replicates in great detail discarded objects and by doing such finds their beauty. Click here for more information.
