Don't shop for homes alone!
In today's competitive real estate market and with the abilitiy to search the internet for listings, buyers have many tools at their disposal to see what listings are available, yet 88 percent purchased their home through a real estate agent or broker, up from 69 percent in 2001, says a new report from the National Association of REALTORS®.
Buyers that choose to enlist the services of a licensed agent increase the chances of finding the right home at the best price. The buyer's agent will network with other agents to find the right home and they will know which homes are coming onto the market before the general public. Read more at Realty Times.
Let the Bargains Begin
Halloween is just over, Thanksgiving is around the corner but the retail stores have already started to promote Black Friday deals and bargains in an effort to get your holiday bucks sooner rather than later this year. It just doesn't seem right to hear the happy jingles of holiday music, decorated trees, Santa and Snowmen all around when the leftovers from Halloween have not even departed the retails stores yet, but such are the times we are in.
According to Time Magazine, "For 2014, retailers are pushing Christmas creep to extraordinary new levels, now that Amazon, Walmart, and others have just announced Black Friday-like holiday sales and promotions starting the day after Halloween."
Veterans Day is November 11th to celebrate the service of all U.S. military veteran. An Act approved May 13, 1938, made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday known as "Armistice Day." Armistice Day was primarily a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after World War II had required the greatest mobilization of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen in history and after American forces had fought aggression in Korea, the 83rd Congress, at the urging of the veterans service organizations, amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word "Armistice" and inserting in its place the word "Veterans." With the approval of this legislation (Public Law 380) on June 1, 1954, November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.
